In accordance with the Municipal Code, Chapter 8, Section 815: "No person shall park or leave unattended a vehicle of any type on any street, road or right-of-way in the Village of Essex Junction during the period December 1 through April 1 of the next year between the hours of 12 midnight and 7:00 a.m. " The Essex Police Department will enforce the parking ban and cars in violation shall be towed.
It is also in the Municipal Code, Chapter 2, Section 209, that basketball hoops are banned from streets effective December 1: "No temporary structures shall be allowed in the right-of-way from December 1st through April 1st. The Village of Essex Junction and the Essex Police Department reserves the right to remove any temporary or permanent structure that is in violation of this ordinance, is creating a safety hazard, impedes pedestrian or vehicle traffic or interferes with the maintenance of municipal infrastructure. The Village of Essex Junction shall not be liable for damages to any temporary or permanent structure in the public right-of-way."

The burning of leaves is prohibited in the Village of Essex Junction, in accordance with the Municipal Code, Chapter 13, Section 1302. The CSWD Drop off Center on Rt. 2A/Colchester Road will accept up to 3 cubic yards of leaves and non-woody yard debris at no charge. Their telephone number is 878-3152. Please note that there should be no dumping of leaves or yard debris in the public right-of-way (road, sidewalk or bike path) or in the woods on Brickyard and Corduroy Road, which is private not public land, and is protected wetlands.
