Five citizens from the Village of Essex Junction appointed by the Board of Trustees make up the Zoning Board of Adjustment. They meet at 7:00 PM on the third Tuesday of each month, if there are applications to review. The main responsibility of the Zoning Board is to review conditional use applications to determine if they conform to certain elements of the Village Land Development Code and Comprehensive Plan. The Board is also responsible for considering, on an individual basis, whether variances to the zoning regulations should be allowed. The Board also hears appeals of the Zoning Administrator’s decisions.
