Lawn to Lake is a multi-organizational outreach campaign encouraging property owners to implement best management practices while taking care of their lawn, such as using fertilizers that don’t contain phosphorus and raising the blade on your lawn mower, to mitigate stormwater.
Blue® stormwater program is an evaluation and certification program where stormwater mitigation consultants certify homes, businesses and institutions as watershed friendly. Consultants educate and collaborate with property owners to identify opportunities for stormwater mitigation, affect behavioral changes, and establish stewardship principles to protect our waters from harmful algal blooms.

Green Mountain Water Environment Association (GMWEA) is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to promoting awareness of drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater issues, and to supporting the professionals who work to protect Vermont’s water resources. GMWEA created a series of brochures in an effort to inform all Vermonters on how to protect their own health, keep their septic/sewer systems functioning, and keep toxins out of wells and natural waters.
