The City Council held its annual Budget Day Workshop on December 13, 2023. During the workshop, the proposed Fiscal Year (FY) 25 Budget was presented to the Council by the City Manager and Department Heads.
To gather feedback from residents, the City has scheduled a series of meetings and Coffee Chats from January to April. These meetings will provide an opportunity for residents to ask questions and share their opinions on the proposed budget. In addition, the Council will hold a Community Meal and Open House on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Champlain Valley Expo Blue Ribbon Pavilion. This combined event will include a Community Meal and Public Hearing on the FY 25 Budget, as well as an Open House for the Vision and Strategic Action Plan. Activities at the Community Meal and Open House will include providing information about the FY 25 Budget and gathering feedback for the Vision and Strategic Action Plan. Reservations for the Community Meal are requested but not required. The Council will hold a second public hearing on the proposed FY 25 budget on February 28, 2024. During this meeting, the Council will finalize the budget that will be printed on the ballot.
Residents of the City are encouraged to attend these meetings and provide their feedback on the proposed budget. The Council values the input of its residents and wants to ensure that the budget is reflective of the community’s priorities.
