The Train Hop is an annual event created to celebrate local businesses and create a social opportunity for our community in a unique way. Event goers are given a train ticket that lists all the participating businesses and are encouraged to get their ticket “stamped” at each location in the Five Corners and at Maple Street Park.
The participating businesses and community partners will have model train displays set up, with some fun giveaways and activities! You can pick up a map from all places listed, or the informational booth in front of Brownell Library. Maps will also be available on our website and on social media the day of the event. Catch the free shuttle to Maple Street Park for the festive winter lights, and train ride around the park.
Please always use the cross walks to get to the train hop stops. The City offices will be handing out glowsticks for extra visibility!
There is free public parking at the Five Corners and Maple Street Park. Walking is always encouraged if possible. We will have a free bus shuttle running to and from Maple Street Park to the Five Corners as well. The shuttle picks up at the Amtrak Station and the entrance of Maple Street Park beginning at 6PM. Don't miss this annual kick-off to the holidays where we'll celebrate community connections!
Train Hop stops include: City of Essex Junction Offices, Brownell Library, Maplehurst Florist, Essex Junction Fire Department, Darkroom Gallery, the Amtrak Station, Vermont National Guard Office, Boxcar Bakery, Nomad Coffee, and more!
