Branch Out Burlington and the Essex Junction Tree Advisory Committee are looking for people passionate about the environment to help plant 150 trees in the Burlington Community Tree Nursery. This is a great opportunity to rub elbows with tree experts like V.J. Comai, the Burlington City Arborist, and Warren Spinner, the Essex Junction Tree Warden, and learn how to plant a tree correctly. It is a great fun event. Trees planted on May 4 will eventually grace the streets and parks of Essex Junction and Burlington.
When: Saturday, May 4, 2024, 9:00 – 11:30 AM
Where: UVM Horticultural Research Center, 65 Green Mountain Drive, South Burlington (off Shelburne Road, behind IDX, now called General Electric Health Care).
No tools or experience is needed. Children of all ages are welcome, but please leave your dog at home (It’s UVM policy). Refreshments donated by the Burlington Bagel Bakery, door prizes from Red Wagon Plants, and more! The event will take place rain or shine, so come prepared for any weather conditions.
