The Essex Junction Tree Advisory Committee is excited to announce the launch of the second annual Greatest Tree Contest, aimed at celebrating trees and their significance to the community.
The contest invites residents to explore the City and nominate a tree they believe deserves the title of Greatest Tree in the City. From September 1-30, 2024, residents can submit their nominations using the online form below, or by picking up a form at the City Offices at 2 Lincoln Street, Brownell Library, or Essex Junction Recreation and Parks. Paper forms can be returned to the City Offices.
Once all nominations have been received, the Tree Advisory Committee will embark on a tour to visit all the nominated trees. The winners of the contest, along with the respective prizes, will be announced in October. The first-place winner will be awarded a $100 gift card, and two runners-up will each receive $50 gift cards sponsored by Northfield Savings Bank.
Community members are encouraged to participate in this initiative and help recognize the remarkable trees in Essex Junction.
