Interview with Sarah Salatino, Owner
Full Circle Gardens is a nursery that sells and grows perennials, annuals, succulents, and veggie starts. The nursery is tucked into a beautiful piece of land on Brigham Hill Road, and guests are invited to explore the display gardens after they browse for the latest additions to their summer garden.
Sarah walked me through her tenderly cared for greenhouse (which was nice and warm on a cold and dreary day) and showed me some of the plants that she was preparing for the summer season. Seeing Sarah delicately care for her plants brought back memories of my grandmother tenderly caring to her colorful zinnias every summer.
One of Sarah’s favorite parts of her job is being able to advise local gardeners (even those who are convinced that they can’t grow anything). She listens to her customers’ needs and makes recommendations on which plants would do the best in their locations. Here is what one recent Facebook review had to say, “Sarah has plants that others don't. She knows her cultivars, and is eager to share her encyclopedia of knowledge. We've gone back many times. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Just go.”
On April 20th from 10 AM-4 PM, Full Circle Gardens will be hosting their second annual Preseason Open House & Succulent Planting Extravaganza. This is a chance to stop by and see what is growing in the greenhouse, chat about spring planting with Sarah and her staff, and even prepare your own colorful, indoor succulent garden. If you are not able to make the event, Full Circle will be open for the season on April 27, and is open from 9 AM-6 PM Monday-Saturday and 11 AM-4 PM on Sunday. 2019 will be Full Circle’s 10th year in business!
Full Circle Gardens is located at 68 Brigham Hill Road, a little over half a mile off of Old Stage Road. Why Essex? “I’m proud to be part of this thriving community of business people and, if given a choice of purchasing goods and services for my business, I choose to work with other Essex businesses rather than the seemingly “less expensive” big box stores or internet. The quality of what I receive is exceptional and building community over the years is priceless. Full Circle Gardens has many customers and garden clubs visiting from out of town and I am always pleased to refer them to Essex restaurants and shops. I believe in creating a supportive business community.” –Sarah Salatino
