Interview with Peter & Kimberly Curless, Co-Owners
Green Mountain Harley-Davidson (GMHD) is much more than a store that sells motorcycles (although they certainly do that). The location offers motorcycle servicing, financing, and most importantly a strong sense of community. GMHD is home to a riding club (Champlain Valley HOGs) and offers a host of events throughout the year. The dealership offers membership into the Moose Mug Club, where members can get a complimentary drink at various different events throughout the year. 100% of the money raised goes to the Moose Foundation, which helps pay expenses for injured riders in Vermont.
Kimberly was excited to highlight a new program: the 2019 Battle of the Kings competition. This is a partnership with the Northwest Technical Center which allows students to be involved with the process of customizing a bike. The bike created by the students and Green Mountain Harley staff is currently in competition for the People’s Choice Awards for a chance to be eligible to enter the World Championships and compete against bikes all over the world. According to one recent review, GMHD's commitment to the community has not gone unnoticed by their customers, “I love this place and everyone who works there - for so many reasons and in so many ways. When most businesses are about making money - this place, with it's remarkable leadership, is about the customer and relationships. Peter is a leader with heart and compassion - for Harley, for his customers, for his #1 staff, for family values, and community. Simply the best of the best!”
Green Mountain Harley-Davidson is located at 157 Pearl Street in Essex Junction. Why Essex? “We love being a part of the Essex community, and doing business with other local businesses. Keep your money local!” – Peter Curless
