Interview with Darrell Langworthy, Owner
Walking into Mark BBQ is a lot like going into a friend’s kitchen. Only in this case, it is a friend who can cook some pretty amazing BBQ. Owner and Chef Darrell Langworthy is a natural conversationalist, and during my short visit he carried on conversations with me, the bread delivery driver, several customers, and a contractor. And this was all while jetting around the kitchen preparing fall off the bone, finger-licking BBQ.
And the food doesn’t just look amazing. Here is what one recent Facebook review had to say, “Authentic barbecue that is by far the best in VT. The owner/chef is beyond friendly and delivers some amazing food. The brisket was fantastic and the sauces are creative and flavorful. 5 star beyond a doubt this is the place to go in Vermont if you want REAL bbq!”
Some of you may remember the Mark BBQ food truck at the Five Corners last summer. Darrell operated the food truck from May until he opened his physical location in October. Prior to owning his own business, Darrell was a food service manager at Global Foundries, and served our country in the Air Force and Army.
Mark BBQ is located at 34 Park Street, next to Karen’s Kloset. The restaurant is open Thursday-Saturday from 11 AM- 9 PM. Catering is available upon request. Get your stomach rumbling by checking out some pictures of Darrell’s recent creations on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/markbarbecue/.
