Work on the railroad tracks will begin on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 7 am. The work will begin approximately 500' north of Central Street and will be completed in a southerly direction. This project will only focus on improvements to the rail and rail support subbase. The work this week will include the following:
Replacing defective railroad ties
Adjusting the rail elevation
Installing additional ballast (crushed stone)
Install new conduit underneath the crossing for crossing controls and communication
Install new concrete panels for the rail crossing at Central Street
Remove and replace existing bituminous concrete pavement on Central Street to match
Central Street Road Closure:
Closure begins Friday, June 17, 2022, at 7 am and will reopen on Tuesday, June 21, at 7 am.
Detour packages will be in place utilizing Grove Street to Main Street and Grove Street to Lincoln Street.
The sidewalk along Central Street at the railroad crossing will also be closed. Pedestrians will be detoured on the sidewalk on Grove Street to either Main Street or Lincoln Street. Detour signs will be in place.
Please note that construction work schedules may be fluid in nature, and work tasks may change due to weather, equipment/material availability, etc. The Village Engineer will provide updates and road closure dates as the work progresses.
